In the U.S before the Louisiana purchase in 1803 with the French Emperor, Napoleon Bonaparte, the Americans had many resources available for their use like a variety of meat and furs, they also had great soil so crops grew well, though their resources were still limited. The purchase of the territory led to the U.S to reform by growing in size and power because they gained more resources and also led to president Thomas Jefferson being able to prove that the U.S government could use powers and do things that weren’t specifically written in the Constitution if it benefited the U.S. The purchase impacted the Americans by allowing the U.S. to grow in size and power, and gain resources to change and supply the country, it also sparked many debates such as whether slavery should be spread into the new lands.
