“16-17th centuries; before his theory Greek philosophers thought that the planets and stars were part of the gods' realm and followed a "natural motion." They did not realize that Gravity is involved. The Greeks' ideas stuck around until the 16th century” (Thompson and Havern).
Before his gravity, Greek philosophers thought different things so they had different gods and goddesses and they associate planets with their power. They didn’t have any imagination about gravity.
“The legend is that Newton discovered Gravity when he saw a falling apple while thinking about the forces of nature” (Thompson and Havern).
This evidence caused Newton to think about Gravity
This picture shows evidence of how it happened, when Isaac Newton discovered gravity. He first thought of his system of gravitation when he hit upon by observing an apple fall from a tree. This image is important because it is a description of that event.

In this picture we can see one of the Greek Philosophers and Earth. It means they had some ideas about planets and gravity. It supports my answer because I also wrote that Greek philosophers had ideas about gravity before Newton. This image is important for knowing scientists’ ideas before Newton.
