Well to start of with before the movement black was treated badly for their color meaning getting jobs and going to work or even just been seeing by white people they just would talk bad about them throw things at them and etc, but this when they wanted to start a movement for more of their rights to become more and equal as a white person
When the blacks started to do the movement they were getting death threats and a lot of violence from white people which the blacks kept on walking but then more and more blacks started join in the movement and more and this became an issue to the government since the blacks only want rights but they didn’t like it that much.
