CONCERT BAND AFFAIRS

SCOPE OF WORK OF THE IBA CONCERT BAND AFFAIRS COMMITTEE:

• Solicits input from the IBA Membership in order to develop ideas and concepts that will benefit and further promote instrumental music education in the area of the concert band idiom, and will share ideas with the current IBA president-elect for topics/clinics that would be beneficial to concert band directors at the IBA Conference.

• Deals with and discusses specific issues in the areas of Large Group, Solo and Ensemble, and the All-State Festivals.

• Serves in an advisory capacity to the Executive Secretary of the Iowa High School Music Association, the All-State Festival Chair(s) of the Iowa Music Educators Association, and the Executive Board of the Iowa Music Educators Association.

• Maintains a list of repertoire performed by IBA Honor Bands as included in their conference application materials.
