Google Academy

BISD is a G-Suite for Education district. Students and teachers use Chromebooks to access and store their documents, to communicate, and to collaborate.

  • If you come from a district or program that used G-Suite, use the modules below to fill any gaps you have in your Google toolbox.

  • If you are new to G-Suite, work through the modules to gain the basic competencies you will need.

At the end of this module, you should be able to

  • Connect your Chromebook to your document camera and TV

  • Use basic Chromebook shortcuts

  • Set up the voicemail on your phone & retrieve voicemails

At the end of this module, you should be able to

  • access and use your G-Suite tools on a mobile device

  • set up an email group in your contacts

  • organize your email using labels

  • create a Google calendar event and invite others to attend

  • Use & organize your Google Drive and share documents with appropriate sharing settings

  • Set up a Google Classroom

At the end of this module, you should be able to

  • locate and follow BISD social media accounts

  • Set up a Remind account to communicate with families

  • Use a Google Form to collect information at Open House or email guardians though Google Classroom

  • Access Gradebook (Gradebook will not be live until right before school starts)

At the end of this module, you should be able to

  • List BISD's commitments to improving instruction

  • Access the TEKS Resource System

  • Download the TEKS mobile app, if desired

  • Know how to contact the CTE Coordinator, the Advanced Academics Coordinator, and the Instructional Coach

  • Access Eduphoria, SafeSchools, Frontline, TEKS Resource System, TEKS Implementation Site, and other platforms
