Mr. Bryant Corkins

Hey there!

My name is Mr. Corkins and I am excited to be serving the Ballard School District as the 6th Grade Science teacher!

I grew up in Bayard, IA, and graduated from Coon Rapids-Bayard High School. In high school, I was very involved in the music and speech departments, but my proudest accomplishment was going to the Destination Imagination Global Finals where we competed against teams from Canada to Belize to France and beyond! It was a lot of fun. After high school, I received my teaching degree from the University of Northern Iowa (go, Cats!) with a duel major in Elementary Education (K-6) and Middle Level Education (5-8) and a minor in Basic Science (K-8). I spent the first four years of my teaching career back at my alma mater at Coon Rapids-Bayard covering all sorts of content areas, but my favorites were my 6-8 science classes and my 5-6 social studies classes.

In my free time, I enjoy movies, reading and buying books (yes, those are two different hobbies), tinkering around on my guitar, making a mess in the kitchen (although I'm not a fan of cleaning it up), and more importantly, hanging out with my friends and family.
