Vision Statement: Ballard Empowers All Learners
We are so excited to have the opportunity to work with you and your student this year! We hope this is a year full of growth and fun memories for all involved!
"all" = Each Child, Each Employee, Each Partner Matters
Hi! I am Miss Hadaway and I am so excited for my fourth year of teaching! I was born and raised in Huxley and I am a Ballard Alum! #GoBombers
I went to DMACC and then transferred to ISU. I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education, with an emphasis on English/Language Arts.
Five years ago I got the opportunity to work at the Ballard Middle School as the building substitute. I was able to meet many students and I got to learn new teaching techniques that I am excited to implement into my classroom.
I love spending time with my family! I have wonderful parents who have always been so encouraging about my dream of teaching. I have an older brother named Chris and a sister-in-law named Laura. They have three boys that I love to be around! Carter is 7 and starting second grade! Gavin is 5 and he will be starting kindergarten this year! Walker is 3 years old and he is the sassiest little person I know! I also have a sister, Megan, who is my absolute best friend.
I believe that communication is key and I am looking forward to answering any questions or concerns that you may have. I can be reached throughout the day at thadaway@ballard.k12.ia.us.
I am so excited to get to know your child this year and I am looking forward to helping them grow!
Hello all! I am Mrs. Ersland, and I have been a teacher since 2007. I grew up in a small town in South Dakota and attended Deubrook Area Schools located in White.
After high school, I attended Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD. While there, I played volleyball and ran indoor and outdoor track. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a few years after, I earned my Master’s Degree in Teaching and Learning Elementary Education. During this time, I met Aaron! We were married in 2005 and I moved to Iowa. Since then, God has blessed us with two children: Easton and Kendall. We love enjoying God’s beautiful creation of the outdoors by hunting, fishing, and riding ATV's. My family is very competitive (literally, everything is a competition) and we love watching the Ohio State Buckeyes!
I am looking forward to walking alongside your child as they grow physically, academically, emotionally, and socially. I encourage and welcome communication with any questions or concerns. I can be reached by email throughout the day at cersland@ballard.k12.ia.us and I will get back to you as promptly as time allocates.
