The Sun Is Also A Star” is a romance novel written by Nicola Yoon. This novel is about 2 main characters, Daniel and Natasha. Daniel is a Korean-American and has high standards to live up to. His parents are expecting him to go to college and get a good, stable job but Daniel doesn't exactly want to. Daniel is a hopeless romantic, and believes in sayings such as “Love at first sight”. Natasha is a Jamaican immigrant living in America, her and her family are unregistered. They’ve been found out and are to be deported later that night. Natasha has only a day to stop their deportation. Natasha and Daniel meet. Daniel thinks it's love at first sight, but Natasha doesn't think so. Will they find love? Or will Natasha be deported? I think this book was alright (although the timeframe is a bit hard to follow). I recommend this book to people who like romance and are over the age of 11. (Amerie. Grade 8)

The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon is about how two high school students fell for each other. Daniel and Natasha had been living very different lives. Daniel has parents who expect him to go to the best schools in the world and become a doctor. However, Natasha and her family will be deported a few days later. One day, they met each other on the road. Did they believe in true love? They spent a day together and later that day, Daniel found out she will be deported out of the United States. The beginning of the relationship was coming to an end. This book is told from the two main character’s points of view. The vocabulary aren’t too hard, but it does include some swearing. I recommend this book to people who would like the genre of Romance and the ones who want to know that the ending was the beginning.  (Ahyun. Grade 8)
