I really like the book The True Diary of a Part - Time Indian by Sherman Alexie. The complex in this book is very touching for me. A teenage diary about a part time indian might not sound like much fun, but Junior's journey to find hope has taken many unfortunate and humorous twists and turns in his life. I also learned about the culture of Native Americans and their difficult life through this book. I think people can learn many useful life lessons through his stories. Some people would find the sexual content disgusting, but it's based on a true story, so the content of this part makes the story more real. (Esther Grade 8)

The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie is an interesting book about a poor Indian kid with a damaged brain who lives on a reservation in America. One day, he decides to switch schools to a nearly all-white high school away from the reservation. It is about his struggles and hardships at the new school. At first, I couldn’t really get into the story as there was a lot of inappropriate language and mature content. However, as I kept reading, the storyline continued to get better and it was heartwarming to read about how the protagonist overcomes challenges with the help of his friends and family. Overall, I would recommend this to people who like humorous books that are easy to read. Although, keep in mind that there is a lot of inappropriate language and mature content which may not be appropriate for young ages. (Seoyeon. Grade 8)

“The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian” by Sherman Alexie fits the genre of realistic fiction. This story is based on the life of a 14-year-old native American called Junior, who lives in a reservation, and decides to transfer to a school where "whites" study. This decision causes a lot of conflict between both communities, however, it also teaches Junior how to live with different cultures and traditions. I enjoyed this book because it taught me more about native Americans' life in a humorous way. I would recommend it to people who enjoy reading about different cultures in a fun way. It is targeted to ages 12 and above because some content and language might not be very appropriate for younger ages. (Nina. Grade 8)

“The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian” by Sherman Alexie was a book that I enjoyed reading, as it had funny content throughout it. Junior, an Indian in America, has lived at the rez (reservation) for his whole life. He then one day decides to switch to a school full of “whites”. Because of this many conflicts and troubles arose. Despite the difficulties, he overcomes them with humor and confidence. Readers who enjoy dirty humor will enjoy this book, but I would not recommend it to those who don't. It would also appeal to readers who enjoy young adult fiction, or even comedy, as it includes some humor. My overall opinion of this book is that it is one of the most enjoyable books that I have read, as well as one of the easiest to read. (Ellery. Grade 8)
