A choice becomes a sacrifice, A sacrifice becomes a loss, A loss becomes a burden, A burden becomes a battle One choice can destroy you.

Insurgent by Veronica Roth is a Science Fiction novel and the second book in the Divergent series. If you haven't read Divergent I highly recommend you to read that first. At the end of Divergent Tris and Tobias destroy the simulation caused by Jeanine Matthews

and escape to Amity hoping to be safe there. The factionless become a big part of the story and Tris and Tobias encounter many new problems. Erudite grows bigger, and life as divergent gets risky. I recommend this book to people who really like Divergent and are curious to see what happens to Tris and Tobias. (Marta, Grade 6)

Insurgent, written by Veronica Roth is the follow up book of Divergent. It goes under the genre of realistic fiction and dystopia. I highly recommend to read Divergent first because Insurgent continues almost exactly where the first book left off so it would be hard to understand the story. Tris, Tobias, Caleb, Marcus, and Peter take refuge in the Amity headquarters but they are nowhere near safe. Divergents continue being hunted, society crumbles and there is no escape. Tris faces betrayal, death of her beloved ones and many more problems. I would rate this book 4/5 because it was amazingly written and was definitely a page turner. Though some parts were very sad, violent and there is also some romance. Though in total it was an amazing book!  (Enya, Grade 6)

Insurgent by Veronica Roth is a dystopian fiction about the world that is divided by 5 factions. This is the second book of the Divergent trilogy. During the first book, two factions were gone and in this book, the main characters (Tris and Tobias). Insurgent shows other factions such as amity that was not in the the first book. So, this is the book that is going to the end of the massive story of the Divergent trilogy. I'll recommend this book highly to people who likes to read dystopian stories. But for some people that prefer more realistic type of books, this will not be the book for you.  (Youngmin, Grade 7)

Insurgent, by Veronica Roth, the sequel to the blockbusting bestseller Divergent, is just as good as the latter if not better. Like the first, it is A dystopian novel based in post-apocalyptic Chicago. It picks up almost exactly as it was left off in the last book. For this reason, I highly recommend reading the first book first. Beatrice, our protagonist, is coming to terms with the death of many people she holds dear from the first book. She is dealing with betrayal and other issues and as you can tell this is not a good time for the whole of their society to crumble. But it does of course, which makes for some excellent reading. I would recommend this for 12 and up because there is some violent content and sad scenes. The vocabulary is not challenging. The book is very long, 525 pages to be exact. Once again remember to read the first book first so as not to miss out on character introductions and the main plot line.  (Anna, Grade 7)
