Doll Bones by Holly Black

“Doll Bones” by Holly Black is a book based on the paranormal and adventure genre. Poppy always had this creepy China doll in her glass cabinet. She was always playing storytelling games with her friends, Alice and Zach but ended up on a creepy quest as soon as they took the China doll out of the cabinet. Although the book's cover depicted a creepy girl doll, it wasn't as creepy as I expected. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys the paranormal and adventure genres. Despite being marketed to kids aged 10-14, I did not enjoy reading this book. The plot wasn't great, but the idea of the book was interesting. (Ellery. Grade 8)
