"At Central Georgia Technical College, Georgia Military College, and Georgia College, your sons and daughters can take college classes while they are still in high school. The dual enrollment program is a jump start for earning a college degree. Tuition is free. High school freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors (from public high schools, private high schools and home schools) who meet GPA and other requirements are eligible to participate in the program.
All students may choose to take classes from the Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways focusing on manufacturing, science, technology, engineering, mathematics, agriculture and transportation. Imagine the day your child graduates from high school. Your child can be well on the way to earning an associate degree at Central Georgia Technical College or Georgia Military College. This approach saves your family money and puts your child closer to finishing college."
The Dual Enrollment Program allows high school students who qualify to enroll in community college courses while still attending their home school. These courses can be used for dual credit in order to meet high school graduation requirements as well as accumulating towards an associate’s degree or as a plan to meet general education requirements in the college or university setting.
Before registering for any of these courses, students should consult their school counselor on how these credits will be factored into his/her historical grades. Not all career and college promise courses receive accelerated quality points for the purposes of calculating a student's grade point average.
Dual enrollment opportunities enhance student engagement, improve graduation rates, and increase student learning. Dual enrollment at CGTC gives high school students additional opportunities to get a jump start on their college career at little or no cost to the student.
