Our students have learned and worked hard this past year to develop grade-level skills and knowledge. As the school year pauses during these summer weeks, engaging in learning through different experiences, including reading and math practice, is beneficial to effectively transition to and prepare for the start of the next academic year.
Please refer to the menu on the top left corner of the site to select your child(ren)’s grade level(s) and find the appropriate resources for their summer learning. Once you are on the grade-level page, scroll through to find all the relevant resources, instructions, and information.
Grade 1 students: Teachers designed this list of activities and resources for our rising first graders to keep their skills sharp over the summer. Please explore the choices and engage your child in learning experiences throughout the summer.
Grade 2 - 5 students: Teachers chose books and created math packets to support an effective transition between one grade level and the next. Students are required to engage with these resources and are expected to bring them in on the first day of school in August.
- For English and Spanish classes, students are to read one or more of the assigned books for their respective grade levels. Teachers provide options with the intention for students to practice their agency and choose the ones that suit their interests and level of challenge.
- Spanish Language Acquisition students should refer to the relevant section on the Summer Learning site. Teachers share a reference list for word study and provide recommendations for further practice.
- For mathematics practice and review, students must print out and complete the packet corresponding to their upcoming grade level. These review exercises will be used to facilitate discussions and further practice in the classroom. Students should have the packets completed and ready to hand in on the first day of school, Wednesday, August 13.
