What Is E-Liquid?

Most e-liquid products are made using a combination of four primary components: Vegetable Glycerin (VG), Propylene Glycol (PG), flavor concentrates, and optional nicotine.

Different ingredient combinations and VG / PG ratios may affect vapor density, throat feel, flavor intensity, smoothness, and overall consistency.

Vegetable Glycerin (VG)
VG is a clear, thicker liquid derived from vegetable-based oils. It is commonly used to increase vapor production and create a smoother inhale. Higher VG liquids are usually thicker in consistency and are often preferred for larger vapor clouds.

Propylene Glycol (PG)
PG is a thinner, nearly flavorless liquid commonly used in food, pharmaceutical, and vapor products. It is often used to carry flavor more effectively and may provide a stronger throat sensation compared to higher VG blends.

Flavor Concentrates
Flavor concentrates are added to create different flavor profiles ranging from fruits and desserts to menthol and beverage-inspired blends. Different flavorings may affect sweetness, cooling sensation, and overall vapor experience.

Nicotine Components
Nicotine may be added in different strengths and formulations depending on user preference. Two commonly used forms are freebase nicotine and nicotine salts.
