Badminton England Affiliated Amateur Adult Badminton Players' Club
In August 2020, a group of cricket enthusiasts took up badminton, tennis, and other racket sports, coinciding with the 'Eat Out to Help Out' summer. During that time, while cricket balls were still considered potential carriers of the Covid-19 virus, tennis balls and shuttlecocks were not under the same scrutiny.
Formally established in October 2021 as the 'Travellers Sports Club, Nottingham,' the group boasted roughly 60 registered members engaged in various sports, including badminton. Successfully orchestrating the Annual Open Badminton tournaments every last weekend of March, the group garnered local news coverage, accessible through the provided images/links.
As of April 2023, the badminton faction has transitioned to operate as 'Badminton Shuttle Stars,' retaining most of its original badminton players. Due to limited peak-time court availability and soaring popularity, the club had restricted its membership to approximately 30 registered members then, leading to a waiting list with over 17 eager enthusiasts seeking entry.
The year 2024 has brought us yet another PAYG (Pay and Play membership) group. This helped us eliminating the waiting list. It has been a very popular session too! The success of PAYG lead us to the first ever "Female Only" F-A-B (Female Amateur Badminton) Players during years 2024-25.
In October 2025 club celebrated it's 5th Year Anniversary. During year 2025-26 the total Club members across various groups were approx 120. We are proud of our co-operative model and transparent operational methods outside of court.
