Spirit Week is right around the corner, but there are many preparations in order for this week to be made possible. We have a great group of members on the Student Council to help give excellent feedback and involvement towards Badin.
Mrs. Trotter is one of the Student Council Moderators here at Badin. She has been a moderator for four years now and is a really big help to our school. She thoroughly enjoys being a part of this group!
Trotter said, “I love getting to know students in a setting other than in the classroom to see them thrive at something they are passionate about.” She doesn’t have every student in class, so being able to interact with them not in the classroom setting is important to her.
Student Council’s job is to come up with ideas to help encourage students to get involved in any upcoming events. For example, we do Spirit Olympics which require students to meet a certain goal to be eligible for competing.
Trotter said, “We work with our dedicated grade to answer questions about preparing hallway decorations, t-shirt approval, and verifying that participants met the eligibility requirements.”
Leading up to Spirit Olympics, there is something we call spirit week. That is a time where we decorate each hallway as Trotter mentioned, we order t-shirts with money we have collected and see how many people are able to participate in the Spirit Olympics to start preparing for that.
This year we are changing up the fundraiser and making it a Hygiene Drive instead of a canned food drive! Don't forget to bring in your products regarding your grade level!
