On Saturday, January 28, many Badin boys and their moms went to Mom Prom. Mom Prom is an event where sons can ask their mothers to this event. There was a DJ, desserts, drinks, games, and prizes. This year's theme was Hawaiian.
Many of the boys had a good time at Mom Prom
“It was good. It was fun,” said freshmen Cody Knapp.
“It was so awesome,” said sophomore Connor Meyers.
Demarion Samples also had a great time at Mom Prom. He called it “a great experience to spend time with my mom and friends.”
“We did the limbo and played other games and had a good time. We took pictures with the backdrops and with our team and moms. My favorite part was winning best dress with my mom. We were both shocked and couldn't believe we were so happy. We had an amazing time and overall it was my first mom prom for me and my mom. We enjoyed it so much and can't wait for the next one,” said Samples.
There were multiple awards for best dressed. The best dressed duo award went to Demarion Samples and his mother. The best dressed trio award went to Mrs. Long, Ty Long, and Colt Long.
Mrs. Long, the freshman religion teacher, said that Mom Prom is one of her favorite nights of the year.
“The decorations were top notch, the DJ was fun and energetic, and I loved learning the Polynesian dances. My favorite part is hanging out with two of my favorite people - my sons. But ultimately, I've taught almost all the boys that go to Mom Prom, so I feel like we are all a big, happy family on the dance floor! And those boys are some great dancers! Winning the best-dressed trio was definitely a high point of the night,” said Mrs. Long.
Overall, Mom Prom was a very fun experience for both the mothers and the sons.
