This January, sophomore US History teacher, Mr. Zimmerman and lifting instructor, Coach Cheek, won the Faculty and Staff of the Month award.
Mr. Zimmerman is known by the students as Mr. Z. He is loved by many students who all had positive things to say about him.
“Mr. Z is a teacher that does a great job keeping you engaged and interested in whatever he’s teaching that week. Mr. Z always knows everyone’s name and always greets you in the hallway. Mr. Z deserves teacher of the month,” said senior Emily Snellgrove.
Mr. Zimmerman has been a teacher for 40 years; he has taught at Badin for 38 of those years.
He feels that it is a great honor to be teacher of the month and he is very gracious. Mr. Zimmerman had some life advice to offer to the students at Badin.
“Read,” said Zimmerman.
Mr. Zimmerman is very deserving of teacher of the month, and Coach Cheek is very deserving of faculty of the month.
Coach Cheek works with all athletes in the weight room. Many students think that Coach Cheek helps them strengthen themselves and their character.
“Coach Cheek is a great coach and I feel I've learned a lot since I started working with him. He pushes you to do your best and is always trying to help you reach your goals. He knows what he's doing," said freshmen Tina Becker.
Coach Cheek brings energy to the weight room and helps his athletes improve to the best of their capabilities. He has been working as a strength and conditioning coach for over 20 years; this is Coach Cheeks 7th year working at Badin.
“It's a tremendous honor to be nominated by the students of Badin,” said Cheek.
Coach Cheek had life advice for his athletes.
“Be diligent in every endeavor and do not settle for being average,” said Cheek.
Both Cheek and Zimmerman are very hard workers who help Badin students improve to be the best versions of themselves.
