As senior year is quickly moving, we wanted to take a moment to recognize one of our school's best students. Mary Giffen is a kind spirited and determined individual.

She is a National Merit semifinalist, as well as being a part of the Student Leadership Board, National Honors Society, and the cross country and swim team. Besides being in the top 10 of her class, she has a huge love for service and helping those around her.

"Mary always knows how to make my day better, her presence is always a blessing in my life." Sophomore Josie Halverson said.

Giffen plans to major in the medical field and isn't yet sure where she wants to attend college. Giffen is a direct example of leadership, as she is a team captain on the cross country team as well as being a service leader in SLB.

"I love helping people, it gives me a sense of purpose and knowing I can make a lifelong impact makes it all worth the while" Giffen said.

Although Giffen has her hardships, she is always resilient and puts her best foot forward in whatever she does.
