You would think being a teacher and a coach would be difficult, right? Well, maybe it is not so bad after all!
Chelsea Trotter said, " Adding coaching volleyball to my to do list this year provided me an opportunity for growth in so many ways. Finding a way to balance coaching, teaching, being a student council moderator, and being in grad school was an adjustment."
By Trotter having so many extras while also being a teacher, it could be tough but she claims that she uses her time rather wisely. Sometimes, she wraps up class 5 or so minutes early to give some extra time to catch up on any little things she may have left to accomplish or something to catch up on.
Trotter said, " If a teacher ends a class five minutes early, those five minutes can add up! I had to learn to practice what I preach and use my time wisely during the school day to complete tasks I would normally complete after school." This quote goes to show that if you use your time efficiently then, you'll be able to manage your work and other tasks more easily.
As long as you keep a positive mindset then, you can accomplish anything.
Along with the staff members, Trotter said, "I also have some wonderful coworkers who offer to help me out when I need it like making copies for me or taking over parking lot duty (thank you Mrs. Keating!)." With having people willing to be there for you by your side, it helps to achieve what you need to get done in a faster way.
She believes that people who are more busy, can get more done due to the amount of things going on in their lives. She likes to stay productive which is why she accepted the position of also being a coach. Trotter says, " It is also important to prioritize a long to do list and complete the tasks that absolutely need to be finished." That is a good way to think about scheduling in a matter of making sure that everything does eventually get done.
Lastly, at the end of the day, it is all about what you feel is best for you. Today do a little bit and tomorrow do a little more. No matter what don't give up and finish strong.
