These are a few of the most decorative doors done by homerooms!
Door Decorating Makes a Comeback
By Emma Frodge
This year Badin brought back the Christmas homeroom door decorating contest. It happens on a day that we have extended the homeroom so we have time to prepare the doors. It gives us time to bond with our homeroom classmates and a chance to see everyone’s creative side.
Aside from all the fun, it is the first time we have had a competition on the doors since this year’s seniors were freshmen.
Senior Ainsley Brandabur said, “This year was a little more disorganized and with having new teachers, people didn’t know how to prepare or what to expect.”
Personally, I would have to agree with Brandabur because as it being my first actual year door decorating, I didn’t know what to expect and my homeroom didn’t come up with an idea until itwas time to decorate.
The door themes seem to be a little similar this year. There are a variety of differences, but the one that there is the most of is Elf. I’m not just talking about the Elf on the shelf, but also the movie starring Will Farrell.
There are a lot of doors that went all out, while some choose to keep it more laid back. Some homerooms that consisted of boys, did not decorate their doors which is perfectly fine too.
I think that if we had more time to brainstorm ideas and get things together, then in years ahead, people will be more prepared and ready to bring on the competition.
Overall, their was a good amount of thought put into those who used their creative minds and time wisely. They all look great and I will be looking forward to the doors in the future!
