“Senioritis” is starting to kick in as the first semester is coming to an end. Seniors are deciding their future plans as college applications deadlines approach.
Students graduating this school year are beginning to look back on their time at Badin and soak up the last few months in the activities they’ve been involved in.
“Looking back, my favorite thing about highschool was the freedom I had during the day with my classes, the relationships that I made with my teachers, and getting to meet new people,” senior Laura Connor said.
Connor describes what makes a college unique to her, after going on several tours to find the best fit for her. She states how she prefers campuses located close to home, but still in a city setting.
“While considering colleges, I look for the campus, culture, and how strong my major’s program is. I plan to major in social work and can see myself being a pediatric emergency room social worker at a children's hospital in a major city,” Connor said.
Badin has lots of opportunities outside of school to find what you’re passionate about and help make decisions about futures.
“While at Badin, I have been involved in softball, ambassadors program, Magnified Giving, French and Spirit Club. I think these activities have influenced what I plan to do in college,” Connor said.
Over the last couple of years, some of Connor’s favorite hobbies include doing yoga and working out. She plans to continue to keep these habits in college to live a healthy lifestyle.
No matter what she ends up doing, Connor is sure to continue her success in and outside of the classroom as she takes her next steps in her life.
