The theater program, run by Mrs. Cline, has entertained people for many years. Over the years, live performances have been the highlight of Mrs. Cline’s year and the year of many students.
Due to COVID-19, many things have changed in the theater program. One of those things is a live audience.
“Theater is a live artform. In a live situation we feed off of the audience's energy and we can’t have that,” Cline said.
The energy the audience provides is a huge part of the actors' performance. Without it, the actors have a hard time trying to perform their best.
“You need people to laugh, and you feel good about that,” senior Cody Wilmer said.
Another thing that will be different this year will be the fact that all performers will be wearing masks during the show. Safety in masks comes with a lot of difficulties.
“Theater has had masks before but we’ve never had to do it to this degree,” Cline said.
Overall, the theater program is going through a bunch of changes that affect the actors and the audience. Even with all of these changes, people are still coming and enjoying the task. The community is one you will never forget.
“The people are the best part. We form family like bonds that live on forever” senior Hannah Riecke said.
