Since the pandemic started everything has changed-- including Badin’s Homecoming and the planning for it.
Student council coordinator, Mrs. Keating, had to figure out a safe way to have a Homecoming.
“This year, because of COVID, there was an adult team that got together to come up with ideas that we knew would probably be approved by the administration,” Keating said.
Eventually, those ideas were brought together and voted on by Student Council. The chosen idea was a Trivia/Singo Night.
“We needed to make sure that students could stay socially distant, we had to come up with an activity that would be conducive to wearing masks,” Keating said.
Since the night was so different then any Homecoming before, there was sure to be a lot of stress involved in the planning process.
“If I’m going to be honest, I didn’t do a super great job of dealing with the stress, but I just made sure to ask people for help,” Keating said.
Even with the stress of planning, Mrs. Keating was hopeful for a great turn out. Sophomore Sydney Boomer had a few thoughts about the socially distanced event.
“I enjoyed the night a lot, and the social distancing and masks did not make much of a difference,” Sydney said.
