Applying for college can be stressful. Every year, the seniors apply to different colleges and hope that they get in. However, there are a few lucky seniors who get into college with a scholarship.
One of the seniors who got a major scholarship was Grace Meehan. Meehan won a full tuition scholarship to Marian University.
“In order to get the scholarship you had to have above a 3.9 GPA, submit a resume and an essay about a time where you had to go through change,” Meehan said.
Meehan was one of eight seniors nationwide chosen for this scholarship, called the St. Mary’s Scholarship. Meehan won with a lot of hard work and perseverance.
“I got involved a lot in high school. I was able to get involved and keep my grade up through hard classes,” Meehan said.
At Marian, Meehan will be studying elementary education and special education.
“I just love helping kids and through my brother I learned I love helping kids with special needs.” Meehan said.
If you want to be successful like Meehan, you can follow the advice that she gave to all.
“Participate in whatever you are passionate about and things will work out in the end for you no matter what's going on," she said.
