With the new year starting off, the Covid-19 Vaccine has been prospering ever since health care workers were a part of the first group of people in Phase 1 to undertake the vaccine.
The vaccine has resulted in many different conversations on whether or not it is safe. With many opinions that differ, people who actually got the vaccine said it just left them with a sore arm for a few days and no other harmful side effects .
The vaccine has had more big plans since it has been put out to use for the first time. President Joe Biden wants the United States to send out 100 million vaccine doses in his first 100 days in office.
“Make no mistake, his goal is not only to meet that, but it’s to exceed that,” US Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy said.
There is now also a new vaccine being developed by New Jersey based Johnson. The difference between Johnson’s vaccine is that theirs could speed up the process and fight the deadly virus off better. This vaccine would also only require one dose unlike Pfizer and Moderna Vaccine.
The Pfizer vaccine is two shots, 21 days apart. Common side effects are pain, swelling, redness, chills, tiredness, and headache. This is recommended for people ages 16 and older. The Moderna Vaccine is for people 18 years of age and older. This vaccine is also two shots, but 28 days apart. Side effects are soreness at the injection site, chills, joint pain, swollen lymph nodes in the same arm as the injection, tiredness, headache, muscle pain, nausea and fever.
