On October 27, 2020, Amy Coney Barrett became the 103rd associate justice of the Supreme Court.
Having Barrett as a new justice will mean a lot of things for America, and beliefs are being formed by the minute.
“She has become a justice in a contentious way,” teacher Mr. Seitz said.
Throughout her life, Barrett has kept a high education throughout her life.
“From 2010-2016, she served by appointment of the Chief Justice on the Advisory Committee for the Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure. She has been selected as "Distinguished Professor of the Year" by three of the Law School's graduating classes.” article “Hon. Amy Coney Barrett” stated.
The addition of Barrett makes the ratio of republicans to democrats 6-to-3, another thing that makes her controversial, and could be viewed as harmful for America.
“Depends on perspective. It marks the court becoming more partisan, which is obviously a bad thing, but it benefits for conservative ideas.” Seitz said.
Nethertheless, Amy Coney Barrett was given a huge responsibility and will take that responsibility with caution.
