Every year, Badin High School hosts the Spirit Olympics. Spirit Olympics is an all school event where each grade participates in a series of events. It is always fun for the students and is a friendly competition. This year, the Spirit Olympics is being held on Friday, Feb. 25. The question of who will win still hangs in the air, and anything could happen.
Some people think the seniors will win and some think that the juniors will win. Senior Isaac Wesner thinks that the seniors are going to win.
“They have the most experience along with extra motivation since it’s our last year,” Isaac said.
The Class of ‘20 won Spirit Olympics last year, along with two other years before that. Now that the class of ‘20 is gone, it is anyone’s game. Sophomore Devon Hage also thinks that the seniors are going to win this year.
“The seniors only lost by like, one point last year and they have the most experience,” Devon said.
Another common idea among the students is that the freshman will lose the Spirit Olympics this year.
“The freshman will lose because I don’t know any athletic freshman and they are new to this,” Isaac said.
With the freshman having the least likely chance of winning, many people also believe that the juniors and seniors will put on the biggest show and have the best fight. They are the most experienced and both are looking to win their first Spirit Olympics.
“The seniors and juniors will put on the biggest show because they have the most athletic and strong people,” Isaac said.
Even with all of the competitions, the Spirit Olympic will surely be entertaining to watch and participate in. There are many games to play and many points to win. Seniors will watch the event in the gym while freshman, sophomores, and juniors will watch in homerooms corresponding to the email sent by Mrs. Trotter. May the best grade win!
“I always enjoy dodgeball because it’s the most entertaining,” Isaac said.
