It’s November so you know what that means...Thanksgiving is coming! As the holiday season commences many people tend to skip Thanksgiving, due to Christmas being a month after. Instead of skipping this holiday, let's focus on all the amazing food that comes with the special occasion.
Turkey, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie! Everyone has their favorites when it comes to this holiday, not just because of how the food tastes, but because of the memories that come along with them.
“My favorite food to eat on Thanksgiving is pumpkin pie. I have always loved it and so did my uncle. It was something that we shared together and since his passing, I always think about the memories we made,” senior Maddie Ortt said.
“I love eating lima beans on Thanksgiving. I know it’s odd but my late great grandma made me try them for the first time. Then my grandma made me eat them too! But it turned out to be a great memory because I was able to tell my cousins all about those stories. Now, I am indifferent to the taste but I continue to eat them so that I can feel a sense of nostalgia,” senior Kaitlynn Falk said.
Food at Thanksgiving is something that many students look forward to because of how delicious it is. Honestly, nothing can compare to it.
“Mashed Potatoes and gravy are my pride and joy! It is always the first thing that I go for when we sit down to eat. I just love it so much and they are so yummy,” senior Lucy Wurzelbacher said.
No matter what food you enjoy the most on Thanksgiving, just remember to be thankful for all you have. Dig in!
