Students at Badin were pleasantly surprised when the administration stated that they were bringing a coffee truck to the school as a treat for the students. The first day that the coffee truck arrived, students were lined up ready to be the first ones to get a taste. Because of popular demand, the coffee truck is scheduled to make regular visits for the duration of the school year.
“I like being able to have some caffeine in the morning without having to make it myself or make my parents drive me and pay for me to get a coffee in the morning from somewhere out of our way. It makes it convenient for everyone. I do believe it was a good investment for Badin. On the first day, there was a line all the way curved around the front doors to the Student Commons. Now that there are more days available, there aren't as long of lines, but there are always people in school with their coffee cups from the truck. Badin is definitely making a good investment,” freshman Maya Craft said.
Grounded Coffee Transit has many different drinks on their menu for every student to enjoy.
“My favorite is the Caramel Frappe,” sophomore Luke Jenson said.
“I like the French Vanilla Iced Latte,” freshman Rebecca Moore said.
“I honestly will drink anything,” sophomore Blake Turner said.
While there is high praise to the Badin faculty for allowing a coffee truck to come to school, some students think that the prices are too high. A few students even believe that by having the truck come as frequently as it does, might ruin the treat itself.
“The coffee truck is over done by now. Everyday for a week just seems like a lot. I feel like it is a once a month type thing,” senior Tyler Andary said.
Other students have a problem with how long the line can get, and how the service can get a little backed up.
“One large drawback is they can't serve people fast enough and people just cut to their friends far up in line and people walk down from the parking lot and jump in with their friends making the line a standstill,” sophomore Drew Hootman said.
Overall the reactions to the coffee truck have been very positive. Students love the idea of having fresh coffee in morning to help them get energized. While there are some problems with service and the prices of the drinks, Grounded Coffee Transit is something that many students love.
