Prom is less than a day away and the students of Badin are getting ready for big night. However not everyone is doing the same thing or even going to prom.
Most students decided to go with a group of friends, since prom guidelines do not allow taking students from different schools. This has brought up some issues since most Badin students do have girlfriends or boyfriends that go to a different school.
“I think it is unfair that prom is limited to only badin, I think a lot of other schools have the dance open and with the amount of people that have SO's that go to different schools it's pretty disappointing,” said senior Nate Cogan.
Just like Cogan, many students did not like this restriction since other schools have different guidelines. Although many students can’t take their significant other, they are seeing this as a way to hang out and party with close friends.
All students are excited to have at least one dance this year, even with the restrictions.
“I wish people from other schools were able to come. However, I'm very happy that we are able to have some kind of dance this year” said senior Emma Trusock.
“I'm looking forward to prom because we haven't really been able to have any events like it this year due to covid” said junior Claire Kuntz.
Students that are going to prom are looking forward to many things, but the main event being dancing and food.
“I am looking forward to dancing the most,” said junior Austin Trotter.
The students who decided not to go are doing different activities for their prom night. Some are having friends over, going on a date or even having their own mini prom with their significant other.
“Going on a date,” said junior Ana Phan.
“Staying home, watching tv, and eating food ,” said junior Madison Hodapp.
Although this is not the most normal prom Badin has had before, it will hopefully end in success with all the timing and planning that has gone into it. The Badin Banner wishes you a fun and safe night.
