Friday, Feb. 26, 2021 is National Tell A Fairy Tale Day.
Fairy tales are imaginary stories usually with a magical aspect. With National Tell A Fairy Tale Day coming up Badin students decided to share some of their favorite fairy tales including senior student, Lucy Wurzelbacher.
“Beauty and the Beast’ is my favorite fairy tale because I've just always adored the characters and songs. I watched it all the time when I was younger and Belle was my favorite princess as she loved books just as much as I did. I was always so jealous of her gigantic library too,” Wurzelbacher said.
Sophomore Olivia Blanton has a different fairy tale that she adored.
“‘Rapunzel’ is my favorite fairy tale because I really liked the Disney movie based off of it, Tangled, and I also enjoy the different interpretations of the story. The original is so much darker than the current version we know today, similar to many other fairy tales, and I find that very intriguing,” Blanton said.
Rapunzel is far different from Sophomore Ally Shook’s favorite fairy tale, “Hansel and Gretel”.
“It's my favorite because it doesn't have the normal storyline of a fairy tale and it's different,” Shook said.
Although Wurzelbacher, Blanton and Shook loved their fairy tales for different reasons, Senior Jenny Blackburn loved Shrek just because of the song “All Star” that appears in the film. It's a song that has been stuck in her head for awhile
"Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me," Blackburn said.
