The Covid-19 pandemic has affected many people’s lives, and more continues to change in our world. Governor Dewine issued a new 10:00 curfew which started November 19th. Badin Students had some strong opinions on the topic.
Erin McMillan had some interesting points about the new enforced curfew, including that she doesn’t personally like the curfew.
“It's not like Covid waits until 10pm to start spreading. If people are hanging out without masks anyway a curfew isn't going to accomplish anything,” McMillan said.
Kaiden Thomas had a similar opinion to Erin about the 10p.m. curfew. He believes that the new curfew will not help with the spread of Covid-19.
“It's very hard to enforce and ultimately trying to keep people inside, in close quarters with their families, is what causes flu season and what has caused this rapid spike in COVID cases.” Thomas said. Gracie Combs had a different answer then some of the other students. She thinks maybe the curfew will help decrease the spread, but only if people follow the 10p.m. lockdown.
“I mean people are still going to defy it like they have with everything else, it might help some as long as people take it seriously and follow it,” Combs said.
Rachel Nusky, a sophomore, had a similar opinion to a lot of other Badin Students, explaining that she believes the curfew will not work.
“I think it is just making more people crowd inside since they can't go outside,” Rachel Nusky said.
