As Badin students learn how to use their laptops, they also find ways to play new games online. One of the new gaming trends on the new computers is solitaire.
The virtual card game has been making its way around the school building, so let’s find out how much time Badin students spend playing the game.
According to a survey 16.9% of students play solitaire all of the time while at school and 35.6% don’t play the card game. But, 47.5% of students only play the game when they have free time during their classes or in between bells.
Most students play for an hour or less during the school day, 2-3 hours at most. However, there’s those few that play all of the time and never shut off their computer. Talk about commitment!
Sophomore Marie Hootman is one of the few who plays from the moment she arrives until school is out, no matter the class.
There are two classes that students always play the game in, religion and other elective classes with language courses coming up behind. Core classes like english, history, math, and science are the classes that people spend time playing solitaire the least in.
A junior, who chose to remain anonymous, will play during their language and religion classes like the majority of Badin.
“It gives me something to do and I kind of relax while doing it,” they said.
It seems as though the buzz the students have over the solo playing card game isn't over just yet for Badin. What will be the next new trend making its way through the halls?
