Service is a very important part of Badin and going on these trips has always been special to every student who attends.
Many students were looking forward to their 2020 summer service trips that unfortunately got canceled due to Covid-19.
Badin student Tatum Palechek who had attended previous summer service trips is here to say,” Badin has taught me the importance of giving back and spreading help to others.” Says Tatum
One of the most exciting service trips to go on is the Dominican Republic. Lots of Badin students had the opportunity to attend this amazing trip, but found out it had been canceled.
I asked tatum how she felt when she learned that this exciting experience was canceled, and she said, “I was very disappointed, because I was looking forward to such a great experience and having the ability to help those less fortunate.” Tatum says
Students had already begun preparing for the trip financially and mentally.
Tatum says, “The only thing on my Christmas wishlist was money to prepare for this trip. I had many things prepared and set up but when it got canceled I was shocked and very upset.”
With such an unpredictable future with Covid-19 the Dominican Republic trip has currently been canceled for this year. However seniors have the opportunity to attend one of the other service trips this coming summer.
“Even though this amazing trip was canceled, I am grateful and happy that everybody is healthy and that we are able to attend another summer service trip.” Tatum says
