Being a neonatal nurse isn't an easy profession to get into, but sophomore Libby Palechek has her mind set on achieving the prestigious position. A neonatal nurse is a nurse who specializes in caring for babies not fully developed.

Palechek has wanted to work as a neonatal nurse for a while. Her cousin's girlfriend is a neonatal nurse and talks to Palechek about it all the time. This was her inspiration to pursue this dream. Working with kids is a goal many people go for in their adult lives.

“I've always wanted to work with babies and being a neonatal nurse is the perfect job for that,” Palechek said.

Being in the medical profession can take people far from home, but Palechek decided she wanted to work closer to home. By being closer to home, this allows her to be closer to family and friends.

As far as education goes, Palechek isn't taking many classes as of now but she plans on looking into more classes to help her achieve her career goals as she furthers her education.
