As the end of the year quickly approaches the badin student council came up with the end of the year dance, better known as “The Back to Summer Dance.”
Due to COVID-19 the “Back to School Dance” was canceled. Student council came up with the idea of having an end of the year dance however with the possibility of COVID-19 getting worse they put it to the side as they tried to come up with a safer option for homecoming.
Later on the idea was brought up again and brought to the administration's attention. The administration liked the idea and worked with the Student Council to make the idea a reality.
The dance date was diced on Sunday May 16, from six to nine. Seniors will be able to tailgate before the dance in their Hawaiian gear, before the rest of the student body can enter the dance. The dance is casual dress and students wear their class color to show class spirit.
The dance will be as close to normal as possible to a back to school dance. The only difference is it is being held in the lower parking lot, unless weather does not permit it. Although there are some regulations given such as wearing a mask while dancing in a large group and only taking off their mask if they are socially distant.
The Student Council hopes to have a back to school dance in Aug. but that depends on how this summer plays out.
“I trust that our Student Council will continue to be creative and adaptive to any situation thrown at them to help plan fun events for all of the BHS student body if needed,” Mrs. Keating said.
