Theater is something that has been around for many years. Watching the actors and actresses perform is fun for many, but actors don’t do all the work. There are people behind the scene, who help things go smoothly.
Samantha Keil is one of the people who work backstage and help with the Badin theater program. The show “Cheaters” was her first, and certainly not her last.
“I enjoy theater, and it’s a really good experience. The people are fun to be around,” Keil said.
Working backstage was a new experience, but an enjoyable one. Keil’s job backstage is to keep the curtains closed and make sure all the actors are on stage when they need to be.
“My job is to boss people around basically. I get to be mean and no one gets to comment on me being mean,” Keil said.
Even though she wasn’t on stage, Keil got to work closely with the actors and managed to form great relationships and have a lot of fun with them.
“I really enjoyed the cast bonding. The inside jokes, including bonk therapy, are just too amazing to not die of laughter,” Keil said.
Keil also wanted to share a message to all of those considering joining the theater program.
“Do it. You wont regret it. It might be nerve-wracking at first but you’ll get used to it.”
