Welcome to the Early Childhood section of our district website. At Blairsville-Saltsburg School District, we know the important role that early learning plays in a child’s future. The impact of the ‘birth - age 5’ years on later school successes compels our district to become more involved in these crucial years.
Welcome to the Early Childhood section of our district website. At Blairsville-Saltsburg School District, we know the important role that early learning plays in a child’s future. The impact of the ‘birth - age 5’ years on later school successes compels our district to become more involved in these crucial years.
Blairsville-Saltsburg School District was one of approximately 50 districts within Pennsylvania to be awarded a Keystone to Opportunity Grant in 2012. Funding provided by this five year grant has enabled us to create partnerships with a number of outside agencies and organizations. Collaboration with Doctors’ Offices, Hospitals, Preschools, and Public Libraries in the area creates a shared investment in early school readiness. Of utmost importance are the partnerships being established with parents of younger children as they become part of the school district’s Early Childhood Parent Communication List.
