Social Work Services

Who are School Social Workers?

School Social Workers are trained mental health professionals with a degree in social work who provide services related to a person's social, emotional and life adjustment to school and/or society. School Social Workers are the link between the home, school and community in providing direct as well as indirect services to students, families and school personnel to promote and support students' academic and social success.

Indiana County Department of Human Resources Directory: A-Z index or search by function
PA 211: is a FREE resource and information hub that connects people with community, health, and disaster services in eleven counties through a free, 24/7 confidential phone service. Just dial 211 to get connected and get help.
ICCAP: programs to solve household problems, manage emergencies, learn new living skills, and foster community involvement
Salvation Army: programs for emergencies, medical care, and energy/food/clothing assistance
Housing Authority of Indiana County, PA: housing programs for families who meet income guidelines


Mental Health Resources






Armstrong Indiana BDHP: provides information on all behavioral and developmental health services and provider agencies available to you and your family.
The Guidance Center (Indiana, PA): provides Outpatient, School-Based, Psych Services (Evaluation, Medication Management), Service Coordination, services for Intellectually Disabled, and Drug and Alcohol supports
Family Behavioral Resources (Indiana, PA): provides Outpatient, Psych Services (Evaluation, Medication Management), and BHRS.
Family Psychological Associates (Indiana, PA): provides Outpatient, Psych Services (Evaluation, Medication Management), and BHRS.
YMH Project: educate, empower, and support families and communities to better understand and care for the mental health of our youth.

Drug and Alcohol Resources

Armstrong-Indiana-Clarion Drug and Alcohol Commission: oversees and provides information on substance abuse prevention, intervention, and treatment services for the area.

The Open Door (Indiana, PA): provides Assessment, Outpatient, Specialized Services, Crisis Intervention, and Education Programming.
