It’s RECITAL TIME!  We are so excited for our dancers to show off their hard work and dedication in our upcoming show “LIFE IS BUT A DREAM" at The Vista Center for the Performing Arts!  We thank you for your support and patronage throughout this year.  We are grateful to be able to celebrate the end of this season with a DREAMY production!  If this is your very first recital or your gazillionth time on stage...we are honored to be a part of your dance journey. This recital site is full of information that will guide you through the upcoming weeks and your child’s performance(s). Please look and read through the site carefully and if you have any questions please email us at info@azdanceproject.com or call our front desk (602)975-0321.

We truly thank you for allowing us to teach and train your children in the beautiful art of dance.  It is an honor and a privilege to work with each and every one of them.  We are deeply grateful for all our dance families and their love and support.  We can’t wait to see our dancers shine on that stage! They are truly A DREAM!

With full hearts

Attendance is vital in creating confident dancers. Make sure your dancer attends all classes leading up to the recital because we want them to feel their absolute best when they hit the stage.

Costumes will be sent home over the next several months.  Please be on the lookout for your child’s costume(s) and be sure to hang them up in a safe place as soon as you get them home.  We have steamed most costumes but yours may require a refresh before recital.  Your child’s teacher will be communicating any and all costume accessories that you will need to gather and/or supply (shoes, hair bows, gloves, socks, tights, undergarments, alterations, props, etc).

Dancers will need a fresh pair of dance tights to wear with their recital costume(s).  We require our dancers to wear the Balera brand tights. These can be purchased at the front desk in the studio in May.  Please purchase the size, style (footed/stirrup), and color your dancer needs according to their class(es):

Tights should be purchased prior to dress rehearsals and show week, and worn with your costume for pictures, stage rehearsal, and all shows.

Stage lighting can wash out performers' faces and for that reason (plus it’s fun) we recommend that dancers wear stage makeup.  Blush, neutral eye shadows, mascara and lipstick are all fantastic choices for the stage.  Hairstyles vary per class. Your child’s teacher will be communicating the hair style for your class.  Dress rehearsal is the perfect time to practice your makeup and hair.  Dress rehearsals are June 3-8th   Make-up and Hair is also required for pictures and stage rehearsal on June 10th and 11th.

DRESS REHEARSAL @ THE DANCE PROJECT JUNE 3-8

We will be having a dress rehearsal the week of June 3rd-8th during regularly scheduled class hours at The Dance Project. Please arrive to class in your costume BUT bring dance clothes with you to change into.  Sometimes costumes are itchy and we may have the dancers change out of the costume and into regular dance clothes to continue rehearsal. Please have ALL costume pieces with you at dress rehearsal, which includes: tights, appropriate undergarments, shoes, socks, shoe bows, hair accessories, gloves, any alterations, and props. Remember this is the perfect time to practice your hair and make up and to make sure you have all your costumes and accessories ready.

The following items can all be purchased and convenientley delivered to the studio or picked up at recital :

To order please see the ORDER FORMS drop down menu found at the top of this page.

We could not pull off these amazing end of the year shows without the help of our wonderful parent volunteers.  We would be so appreciative if you would be willing to volunteer to help!  We are specifically looking for class moms to help chaperone each class backstage.  Class mom duties include checking in/out dancers, assisting with shoe/hair/costume changes, getting dancer’s lined up and ready to go on stage, monitoring backstage downtime. If you would like to sign up please see/call Jori between May 13-May 23rd.
