AYSO Soccer Programs
We provide a variety of soccer programs to meet different needs and experience levels for all ages of children. In keeping with the AYSO philosophy, everyone participates, and everyone plays; whether in a early training program or a competitive team, all players will find opportunities to play and be involved on the field. Volunteer driven, we encourage and provide training for everyone to have a role to support children's soccer as coaches, referees, or other areas of support.
Recreational Soccer (U6 through U19)

Designed for players of all abilities and experiences, recreational soccer strives to create balanced teams with opportunities for all players to develop and improve their experience on the soccer field. For U6 and U8 programs, games are typically local to Palo Alto while U10 and up may play neighboring regions.

Palo Alto AYSO provides quality competitive opportunities for players who have proven experience or want to commit to a program that provides more opportunities to play at an Elite level. More tournaments and further travel may be involved.

For our newest players, we provide a fun filled games based experience that gets the kids started with kicking the ball and getting a feel for playincgsoccer.

The Palo Alto AYSO EPIC Program provides a quality soccer experience for children and adults, whose disabilities make it difficult to successfully participate on mainstream teams.

Early May 2026: Fall Registration is open!
June 15, 2026: Early bird discount ends
July 31, 2026: Standard registration closes; final day to request cancellation/refund (minus the $35 AYSO National fee and $3.50 online service fee)
August 1, 2026: Late registration begins. No refunds or credits after this date except in cases of program cancellation or Regional Board approval. Late scholarship requests considered based on remaining funds
Mid/Late August: Team formation and practices begin for 8U and older divisions
August 15, 2026 (tentative): Preseason Jamboree
September 12, 2026 (tentative): First games for 8U+; 6U Program begins

Scholarships
Scholarships
Scholarships are available for families with demonstrated financial need to help offset local registration costs. Scholarships do not cover the $35 AYSO National fee or $3.50 online service fee.
Typical awards cover up to 50% of registration fees, with higher assistance possible for families with exceptional need and volunteer participation.
Scholarship applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and may take up to three weeks for review.
July 31, 2026: Final day for guaranteed scholarship consideration
August 1, 2026: Late scholarship requests considered only with Regional Board approval and remaining available funds

Withdraws/Cancellations and Refunds:
If you need to request a refund we can return your registration minus National/Service fees or offer credit towards a future season. Please note deadlines for cancellation/refund requests.
Select players must register same as recreational players. In addition, select players will have additional fees that are managed through team managers. Please see the Select info page for more details.
AYSO is volunteer run to keep the costs low! We still have costs to rent fields, facilities, equipment, storage, uniforms, etc.
