Dr. Tahirzeb Khan is an Assistant Professor of Physics at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM), specializing in applied physics with expertise in optical spectroscopy, thin-film growth, and materials characterization. He holds an M.S. in Applied Physics from the University of Massachusetts Boston and an M.Sc. Physics from the University of Peshawar. His research interests include the development of nano-structured optical and semiconductor materials, spectroscopic analysis for energy-efficient applications, fabrication of thin films, and advanced laser optics. He has authored multiple publications in areas spanning dielectric materials, band-gap engineering, and first-principles studies of lead-free perovskites for energy storage and solar applications. Dr. Khan also brings significant teaching experience to AWKUM, having instructed core physics courses such as Quantum Mechanics, Optics, and Electromagnetism, along with spectroscopy and lab-based modules.
