Studying master in physics at Gomal Univeristy, Dera Ismail Khan, Pakistan, I earned my PhD degree from Lancaster University, UK, where I investigated exciton confinement in strain-engineered InAs quantum dots sandwiched between InGaAs buffer layers, using magneto-photoluminescence at low temperature, 2K. Upon completion of PhD studies, I rejoined Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan where I had been working as a lecturer, before which I had served the University of Peshawar shortly, for two years. In addition to the quantum dots, I extended my research to other nanostructures as well while focusing on their dielectric properties for energy storage.Â
Furthermore, apart from the crystalline structures, I have been involved in (1) studying various amorphous structures for luminescence and radiations-shielding purposes; and (2) investigating the crystalline structures computationally while exploiting the density functional theory (DFT) techniques. Therefore, currently, several projects are available for M.Phil. and Ph.D. students both in experimental and computational materials science.
