Prof. Dr. Gul Rooh is a Professor of Physics at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM), specializing in scintillation and luminescent materials, radiation detection, and optical materials research. With a Ph.D. in Materials Science from Kyungpook National University, South Korea, he has extensive experience in rare-earth doped glasses and crystals, scintillator development, and material characterization techniques. He has published widely in international journals, presented at leading scientific conferences, and supervised graduate students in cutting-edge research on advanced materials for applications in radiation detection, imaging, lighting, and lasers. As a former Chairperson of the Physics Department, he has also played a key role in academic leadership and fostering research culture at AWKUM.
