Scouting America Adventure West Council Golden Plains District

Golden Plains District serves youth in Cub Scout Packs, Scouts BSA Troops, and Venturing Crews serving the geographic area containing:

Colorado: Akron, Ault, Brush, Eaton, Evans, Fort Morgan, Greeley, Holyoke, Johnstown, Milliken, Sterling, Wray

Wyoming: Cheyenne, Pine Bluffs

Our Purpose

The purpose of the Golden Plains District is to provide support to the local units (Cub Scout Packs, Scouts BSA Troops, and Venturing Crews) within our district. We want to provide the best possible program for our youth, and we cannot do that without the help of our volunteer leaders. We have many volunteer opportunities available at the District and Unit level. Contact one of our Key 3 below for details!

Standing Meetings

District Committee: First Wednesday at 6:30pm every month

Volunteers serve on various sub-committees or as an at-large member helping wherever they can. This meeting is led by the District Chair. We welcome more volunteers.

District Commissioner: Second Wednesday at 7pm every month

Volunteers who are currently serving a unit service role. Commissioners specialize in providing top-notch resources to the units they serve. This meeting is led by the District Commissioner. We welcome more volunteers.

District Roundtable: Third Wednesday at 7pm every month

All leaders and parents are welcome. This meeting can offer several benefits for both new and experienced scouting adults such as networking, program ideas, district updates, and fellowship.

Our district hosts or co-hosts many events throughout the year:

Merit Badge University, Leader / Eagle Scout Recognition Dinner, Klondike (winter camping), Scouting for Food, Cub Scout Pinewood Derby, Spring Camporee, Cub Scout Activity Day, Fall Camporee, and many more.
