This is an example of an amazing inquiry from and early childhood learning centre operating from a Reggio inspired premise. The photos and examples are the practical manifestations highlighting what can be achieved with children 3-5years of age when intelligent and well articulated inquiry is embedded and understood by the "big people" in the learning process.
Some of the thinking that arises in children as a product of asking good quality questions can be both enlightening and surprising :)
Love is in your heart.
Love in in your hands.
Reflective thoughts...
Gathering evidence of the children's learning along the way is really important. It places the teacher alongside the child and allows them to capture their thinking as they are discovering. It also provides opportunity to ask provocative questions that might prompt the child to consider new opportunities.
These are practical ways to display and capture children's work in a meaningful way and also allow to form the evidence component of learning combined with the important display part of the inquiry for whanau.
