• Asking and answering questions to show knowledge of a text.

During this unit students will learn during the Speaking and Listening Session to: 

• Determine central message, lesson, or moral and explain how it is conveyed through key details in the text. 

• Describe characters in a text and how their actions contribute to the sequence of events. 

• Distinguish their own point of view from the narrators or characters. 

• Compare and contrast themes, settings, and plots of a story. 

The Speaking and Listening sections are very important. A lot of really great discussion and learning happens during this time. If you have unfortunately missed this time in class there are resources to help. In google classroom you will find access to a version of most of the speaking and listening sections that happened in class that day. Below is a sample of the speaking and listening.
