Speech and Language Services

School based speech-language pathologists (SLPs) support students in developing communication skills needed to learn, participate, and succeed at school. Services may address speech sounds, language, fluency, social communication, and functional communication, including AAC.

Services are individualized and may include direct therapy, classroom support, consultation, and collaboration with teachers and families. For students receiving special education, speech-language services are determined through the IEP process based on the student’s educational and communication needs.

If a parent has concerns regarding a child's speech-language skills, it is appropriate to call the district office or the speech-language office.

Meet the Speech Language Pathologists

Mrs. Bognar

I received my undergraduate degree in communication sciences and disorders from UW-Eau Claire in 2012 and my masters degree in speech language pathology in 2014 from UW-Stevens Point. I have worked in a variety of settings in both Madison, WI and the Northwoods, including: pediatric outpatient, tele-therapy, birth to three and schools.

I live in Arbor Vitae with my husband, two children and Boston Terrier. I enjoy being outdoors all year round, hiking, biking, camping, skiing and snowshoeing.

While my first career was as an opera singer and college voice teacher, I decided to veer into the area of communication sciences and disorders in 2016 at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. I love all elements of speech pathology work, so I try to stay active on the medical side of practice as well. This is my first year at Arbor Vitae-Woodruff. I fully endorse learning through play!

I live up in Winchester, WI with my partner Pete and my cat Tosti. I also have two adult children, Bene & Buzz, who live in Eau Claire. My oldest is married to Jess, the new addition to the family. We love to cook, play board and card games, and laugh. When I can get out on a boat and do some fishing, that is a treat!
