Speech and Language Therapy in the School Setting

Speech-Language services in the public schools are considered part of special education.  

Students with speech-language needs might:

• have speech that can be difficult for people to understand

• have difficulty formulating sounds or sentences

• have difficulty expressing themselves in a clear or concise manner

• have difficulty understanding and using language

• have difficulty listening or engaging in conversations

• have difficulty with speech fluency
