Dear Parents and Guardians,
To kickoff the new school year, we are streamlining our school-to-home technology. We are transitioning to Focus, our new Student Information System (SIS) and primary communication platform.
Focus will now serve as your all-in-one portal for your student's academic journey. You will need the Focus app to:
- Access Class Schedules: Student schedules will only be viewable before the school year starts if you have created an account. (Student schedules are slated to be released on July 27th and are subject to change. Due to scheduling constraints, we cannot accommodate change requests and kindly ask that you refrain from contacting the office regarding schedule updates. We appreciate your cooperation! )
Track Academic Progress: View real-time grades
Stay Connected: Receive all school-wide communications and announcements.
Message Teachers: Connect directly with your student's teachers.

Desktop version (scroll all the way to the bottom of the page). This is where you can access your student’s grades, attendance, classes, and all communications from the school and district.

When setting up your new Focus account, you use the same email address you previously used for your Aeries account. This ensures your new account safely and automatically links to your student’s information. Click "Sign in with Google" if you have Gmail or "Forgot Password" if you have another type of email account, and the system will email you to reset your password. If you can't remember your email, or If you have never had an Aeries account, you will need your student's ID number or contact the school.

To complete your digital forms at this moment, they can only be accessed on the Desktop version (scroll all the way to the bottom of the page). Once logged in, you will find your mandatory digital back-to-school forms right inside the app, available starting July 27th. (These need to be finished to be able to see your student's schedule).

SBA Cell Phone Policy
Cell phones and other electronic devices are brought to school at the risk of the student. No such device is allowed out during the school day*. When students arrive at school (7:55) and enter the campus their electronic devices should be stored in their backpack and turned off or silenced until they leave the campus at the end of the day. Students are not allowed to use or show their devices to other students. If a student has their cell phone or electronic device out during the school day, a parent/guardian will need to pick it up at the end of the day. Continued cell phone violations will result in progressive disciplinary actions. Consequences will be given if students have inappropriate photographs, graphics, videos, or texts on their cell phones or have sent these to another student’s cell phone or email. Meta glasses are prohibited.
A student who has a legitimate need to call a parent or guardian during the school day may ask a staff member for permission to call from a classroom or office phone.
*Under California's Phone-Free Schools Act (AB 3216) / Education Code Section 48901.7, all public school districts, county offices of education, and charter schools are required to adopt policies limiting or prohibiting student smartphone use during the school day as of July 1, 2026.

Dear Parents,
Here is what your student needs for PE class:
Required Uniform
Clothing: A plain gray t-shirt and red shorts. Write your student's name clearly on the outside of both items.
Shoes: Athletic shoes.
Cold Weather (Optional): Solid gray, red, or black sweatshirts and sweatpants.
Weather Guidelines PE classes are usually held outside. Please encourage your student to wear sunscreen and a hat on warm days. Jackets, beanies, and sweats are only allowed during cold weather.
How to Purchase You can buy PE clothing online at our Student Store or in person at the school office. Have your student bring the receipt to their PE teacher to pick up their gear.
Dress Code
Dress Code
Students are required to follow the dress code to ensure safety, promote a positive learning environment, and prepare for their future. Student clothing should be clean, modest, and comfortable.
Any clothing item or accessory not used for its intended purpose may be confiscated, and progressive discipline may be enforced. The dress code applies throughout the school day and during all school-sponsored events.
Clothing, adornment, or grooming that is obscene, libelous, slanderous, or unsafe, or that disrupts the orderly operation of the campus, is prohibited. This includes references, words, symbols, or graphics related to alcohol, tobacco products, drugs, gangs, violence, sexual content, sexism, racism, vulgarity, or hate speech, as defined in EC 220.
No hats, hoods, or beanies in class
Messages and images on clothing must be appropriate
Undergarments should be covered by clothing
No skin should show through holes above mid-thigh
No spaghetti straps, strapless, or backless shirts
No overly revealing clothing
Shorts, skirts, and dresses must be mid-thigh or longer when standing (shorts underneath are highly recommended)
Students in grades PreK-6 must wear closed-toed shoes with backs
Clothing or accessories that signify gang association are not permitted
*7th & 8th grade students in violation of the dress code will receive a warning and will change into PE loaner clothing. Further violations will result in progressive discipline.
*Reminder 7th & 8th Grade students need to have athletic shoes for PE in their locker (This could affect their grade)
*Pajamas and slippers are only allowed on our pajama spirit day

Please CLICK HERE to fill out SBA's transportation form for each of your students by August 4th or as soon as possible. We always need updated information for our records to help us keep your students as safe as possible. Bus information does change from year to year so please check the district website for the most up do date information. This will help us get your student on the correct bus. Thank you
SBA Traffic Procedures
SBA Traffic Procedures
The following procedures are designed to help us keep your children safe and to make the process of dropping off and picking up students as efficient as possible. Please allow ample time, do not exceed the posted 5 mph, and watch for children at all times. Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.
Grades Preschool-3 use the North Lot (in front of the school office)
Grades 4-8 use the East Lot (on the far east side of our school)
4th-8th grade students may use our North Lot if they have a sibling in grades TK-3, so you can drop off/pick up all family members in the same place. 4th-8th siblings must stand with their youngest sibling at pick up.
DROP OFF:
Students should arrive at school between 7:55-8:20 AM to allow time to get to their classroom by 8:25. (Students should be in their seats by 8:25 when school starts. They will be marked tardy after that.)
North Lot:
Stay in lane 1 to drop off students who do not need assistance getting out of the car. The driver stays in the car and students exit the car independently.
The center of the North lot is ONLY for TK/Kindergarten/Staff/Visitor PARKING. For safety, drivers must exit the vehicle and cross their student in a crosswalk.
Please follow the flow of traffic and wait your turn.
Follow the directions of the monitors/traffic supervisors at all times.
East Lot:
Stay in a single-file line and pull all the way forward. Once you pass the first crosswalk, students exit at the next stop. Please do not stop in the middle of the area to drop off your child if there is still space in front of your car. Students must exit their vehicles the entire span of the loading zone, from the first crosswalk to the second.
Please pull forward in the drive through lane so several students may exit their vehicles at once.
PICK UP:
PICK UP:
Students should be picked up at 2:40 on regular days and 1:20 on early release days.
North Lot:
Please pull all the way forward in the loading zone, students will come to you.
East Lot:
If you use the parking lot, please park, meet your child at the gate, and escort them to the vehicle.
East parking lot will be closed to traffic after 2:40 or 1:20 on early release days. Drivers will be asked to use the pick up line.

Please respect our neighbors. Do not pick up/drop off on side streets in our neighborhood. Do not turn around in private driveways, or block their mailboxes.
Please do not drop off/pick up in the dirt lots adjacent to the school, they are private property.
Do not drive into or park in the bus lane area on the west side of school.
Citations may be issued for unsafe driving in a school zone.
Please contact the school office if your child will be going home by different means than what we have on file. We must know of any changes by 2:15 PM or 12:55 on an Early Release day.

Snack Recess Update (TK–5)
Snack Recess Update (TK–5)
This year, students in grades TK–5 will follow a new snack recess routine. During the 15-minute snack recess, students will have time to enjoy a snack and participate in recess.
To help students make the most of their recess time, please send a snack that is quick and easy to eat, requires little or no preparation, and can be opened independently. Healthy options such as bananas, string cheese, applesauce pouches, yogurt tubes, grapes, or other nutritious grab-and-go snacks work well. Students will have a few minutes to eat their snack in the quad before heading out to recess. Those who need additional time may finish eating at the tables located in the quad or near the playground before joining recess.
To help keep our campus clean and ensure a safe play environment, food is not permitted on the playground.
Thank you for your partnership and support as we implement this new routine. With your help, students will enjoy a smooth transition from snack time to recess while making the most of their playtime.
